SpryPanel Documentation | 2.4. Global Content Editing

SpryPanel has the ability for you to set a content element value and then have that value available to you on every page that you have SpryPanel controlling content. This is very useful if you want a message of the day, a latest news item or a site name that is site wide. Due to the global nature of the these content elements only a SpryPanel super-user can change or create them. If you have super-user access then you can access the global variables from 'system preferences on the SpryPanel file view page.

To edit the content of a global variable, make the changes you require to the variable(s) you want to change in the variable value box(s). If you want to change their name (their name defines how they are called) you can also edit that field. Then click the 'Edit global preferences' button.

To add new global variables put the number that you would like to add into the Add box and then click the 'Add new global variables' button. The page will reload and you will see your new global variables ready for editing.
