SpryPanel Documentation | 2.2. Page Content Editing
In
order to edited SpryPanel controlled content, you must first log-in
into SpryPanel by loading the page http://www.your_site.com/sprypanel
in your web-browser. You will then then see a page with a list of all
the files that have their content controlled by SpryPanel on your
web-site, in the main pane. This will look something like shown in the
figure above (the actual options and files available to you depend on
how your SpryPanel installation is configured and your access
privileges). Please note that if your file list looks significantly
different from the picture shown here, don't worry. What this means is
that your installation of SpryPanel have been 'themed', most likely to
integrate it with your site. The images shown in this documentation use
the default theme, but the operation and functions available are the
same in any theme.
Once you have made any changes to the
content on your web-site, you can click on the name of the page you are
editing on SpryPanel's file view page and you will be taken to that
page (note that SpryPanel needs to be correctly configured to do this -
if you are a super user you can do this from the 'Edit document design'
page, or contact your system admin).
Standard Content Editing
To edit a page's standard content simply click on the 'E' icon (Edit
page content) opposite the file name that you wish to edit. A new page
will open which displays the content that is currently on that page,
split into its individual content elements. An example of this page is
shown in the figure above. To edit the content all you need to do is
make the changes that you require to the content and then click the
'edit content' button. If there is no standard content elements
available to edit on this page SpryPanel will tell you so. You then
either need to contact your system admin or add new content elements
from the 'Edit document design' page in SpryPanel.
Adding List Content
if you wish to add a new list item to a page, the procedure is very
similar to that for the standard content editing. In this case you
click the 'L+' icon (Add list item) opposite the file name that you
want to add content to. This will take you to a page where you can fill
out the information that you would like to appear on your web-page
list. Like 'edit page content' this function will also inform you if
there are no list content elements assigned to this page.
Editing List Content
Editing a list item add an extra step. If you wish to edited the
content of a list item that is already on your web-page, click the 'LE'
icon (Edit list item) opposite the file name that want to edit. This
will take you to a page where you can pick which item in this list you
wish to edit. Choose it by clicking on the radio box next to the item's
description and then clicking the 'Edit item' button. This will then
take you to a page where you can edit the content elements as you have
done with the standard content editing and addling list content.
Deleting List Content
When you would like to remove an item from a list on your web-page,
click on the 'L-' icon (Delete list item). You will then be asked on a
new page to select the items that you wish to delete from the list.
Check the items you do (you can check more than one) and then click the
'Delete item(s)' button. This will take you to another page which will
ask you if you are sure that you want to delete these items. Please
make sure that you are before you remove them this operation cannot be
undone!
